BIONIK designs chemical scrubbers adapted to any specific need, from vertical counter-current design to horizontal crossflow units.
In the scrubber, pollutants are washed out of the exhaust air with reactive washing mediums. Depending on the type of pollutants, acidic, alkaline or oxidising agents can be used. Neutral salts are formed as a result of the chemical reactions, preventing stripping of the absorbed pollutants back into the gaseous phase.
A typical field of application is the pre-treatment of exhaust air in front of biofilters, especially if the exhaust air contains high concentrations of specific compounds and non-biodegradable pollutants.
